Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate (HWE) is a conserved area in the Lowveld bushveld that offers residents a chance to experience African wildlife up close, with impalas, kudus, and warthogs often seen around homes. The estate spans 645 hectares, with less than half allocated for half-hectare freehold properties. A significant portion of these properties have been developed into residential homes and bush lodges.
The estate provides secure living and high-quality infrastructure, including tar roads, waterborne sewage, a water treatment plant, and modern water and electrical reticulation systems. Located on the edge of the town of Hoedspruit, residents have access to all necessary amenities within a short distance. The town offers views of the Drakensberg mountain escarpment and is known for its quiet, secure environment. Many families have chosen to move to Hoedspruit from urban areas to enjoy a more peaceful lifestyle.
– Animals on HWE include: impala, warthogs, nyala, kudu, giraffe, zebra, waterbuck, wildebeest, duiker, steenbok, porcupine, civet, genet, mongoose, and assorted birdlife and reptiles.
– Due to the proximity of other wildlife estates, wild dog will on occasion traverse the estate.
– Leopards are also present on HWE as their movements are impossible to control.
– Located opposite Pridelands Nature Conservancy, a Big 5 reserve.
– Infrastructure: tar roads, a waterborne sewage system, and water/electricity reticulation for efficiency and self-sustenance.
– Quick access to Kruger National Park: 74.8 km to Phalaborwa Gate and 67.2 km to Orpen Gate via main roads.
– Centrally located in Hoedspruit, Limpopo.
